The Feeling Called "Saudade"
Saudade The word saudade has always held a special place in my heart. As a Portuguese word, it encompasses feelings of longing, nostalgia, and a sense of something missing. But for me, it symbolizes the complexities of life and all its contradictions, particularly when it comes to my childhood memories. Growing up, I experienced a significant loss at a young age. This loss took away my childhood and forced me to grow up too soon. I miss the carefree days of playing with my peers and not having to worry about anything. I long for those moments and the innocence they brought. However, despite the loss of my childhood, I've learned to appreciate the experiences and lessons that have shaped me into the person I am today. I've become resilient, independent, and strong, traits that I wouldn't have developed if it weren't for what I went through. But still, the feelings of saudade for my childhood remain.
